General Examinations

This includes a general assessment of the head and neck and clinical assessment of the soft tissues and teeth in your mouth. Once the exam has been completed any required treatment options will be discussed and a Treatment Plan will be agreed before it is carried out.

If the patient is experiencing symptoms of pain and ill health, the assessment will first and foremost diagnose and treat immediate problems (Immediate Phase).

In addition provision will be made to carry out a comprehensive clinical assessment of soft tissues and teeth in your mouth and any further treatment will be added to the patients Treatment Plan (Restorative Phase). This may be spread over several visits if necessary.

The final phase for all patients is to discuss the maintenance of there oral health (Maintenance Phase). This includes: regular check ups tailored to the patients needs, regular visits to our hygienist and continual discussions regarding the oral hygiene carried out at home by the patient.

If the patient is found to have good oral health then it’s recommended that the patient go straight into a Maintenance Phase of regular check-ups tailored to their need.

Dental Implant Assessments
Scale and Polish

The Dentist or Hygienist at CK Dental Health clinic carries out scaling and polishing.

You cannot remove tartar just by brushing your teeth, but a Dentist or Hygienist can remove it using special instruments –this is known as scaling. The Dentist or Hygienist can also polish your teeth. This removes stains from your teeth from foods/drinks such as tea, coffee, cigarettes or red wine. Having a scale & polish is also part of maintenance phase of patient treatment. Removing plaque & tarter contributes positively to the health of your mouth by reducing the possibility of developing gum disease and decay.

Fillings

Dental fillings are used to repair & restore worn, decayed and broken teeth. At CK Dental Health Clinic we will discuss with you the type of filling (material, size etc.…) you may require and explain the advantages and disadvantages of the options available giving you the opportunity to make an informed choice.

Crowns

A Crown is a cast porcelain, alloy metal or a combination of both materials that is placed over a tooth and held in place with a dental adhesive or cement. It provides support for teeth that have broken or have large fillings that continue to break and prevents it. Crowns can look and feel exactly like a natural tooth.

The colour and shape can be matched to your own teeth. A Crown can last for many years if you look after your mouth and teeth. Regular check ups with your dentist at Ck Dental Health Clinic will detect any problems with your crown and your dentist will recommend necessary treatment.

Dentures

Dentures are a removable appliance to replace missing teeth.

There are different types of Dentures, Full or Partial. Acrylic or Cobalt Chrome. A good set of dentures helps you to eat, speak, function and improve the appearance of your smile. At CK Dental Health Clinic all denture options are available including the possibility of having an immediate denture that can be made in a matter of days to replace the sudden loss of a tooth or multiple teeth.

We use a local Dental Laboratory.

Root Canal Treatment

Root canal treatment: is directed towards removing inflamed or abscessed tissue. A root canal treatment requires one or two visits to complete depending on the extent of the infection.

Veneers

Veneers are a thin custom made tooth coloured shell. They are made of either thin plastic resin or porcelain. Tooth preparation is minimal. The veneer is bonded to the tooth with tooth coloured resin cement.

Tooth Whitening

Tooth whitening is a treatment to whiten discoloured teeth. Teeth can discolour for various reasons. Our dentist at CK Dental health clinic will recommend the most ideal method based on your oral condition after a consultation. Treatment results depend on the severity of the discolouration and the type of whitening procedure used, as well as the duration and frequency of the whitening. All available options will be discussed at your consultation visit.

Mouth Guards

A mouth guard is a device that fits over your teeth with the intent of reducing tooth wear, muscle pain and soreness and jaw joint pain and instability. They can also be used to discourage habitual behaviours many patients don’t realise they have such as clenching & grinding. These appliances can be worn at night or during the day.
